Parades to be Televised on MC 22 | Arts & Culture

Mediacom Channel MC 22 will be broadcasting Iowa State University’s VEISHEA Parade and the Pella Tulip Time Volks Parade this year.
The channel will give viewers an up close view of the festivities for those who cannot attend the events. The VEISHEA Parade will be televised on April 21st and the Tulip Time Parade on May 3rd.
The student-led celebration at Iowa State will air for three consecutive days starting on April 21st at 7 p.m., Sunday April 22nd at 6 p.m., and finally on Monday April 23rd at 7 p.m. The parade will be replayed the following weekend on April 28th at 5:30 p.m. and April 29th at 4 p.m.
The MC 22 television team has partnered with Iowa State University to bring the parade throughout Iowa and surrounding states. The channel will also be bringing viewers the Pella celebration that will feature traditional Dutch costumes, street scrubbers, dancers, marching bands, and thousands of colorful tulips.
Pella Tulip Time Festival organizers granted Mediacom permission to showcase the annual event to Iowa Mediacom customers and surrounding states. The parade will be televised on Saturday May 5th at 8 p.m. and Sunday May 6th at 10 p.m. Additional times may be added for weeks the weeks to follow the events.
“Tulip Time in Pella and Iowa State’s VEISHEA celebration are long-standing traditions enjoyed by generations of Iowans,” said Mediacom Regional Vice President Steve Purcell. “Televising these festivities carries the tradition forward and provides great programs that we’re happy to deliver to Mediacom customers.”
In addition to MC 22 broadcasts viewers with digital cable service can choose to watch the parades at any time using OnDemand Channel 1.
