Governor Branstad Signs Proclamation to Patriot Outreach | Community Spirit
Governor Branstad is scheduled to sign a proclamation supporting military service members and veterans called Proclamation to Patriot Outreach this Memorial Day, May 30.
The proclamation will recognize the dedication of Patriot Outreach to armed forces and veterans.
Over 18 veterans a day take their own lives. Patriot Outreach is an organization dedicated to helping these veterans and active military members find help and healing through their compilation of Coping Strategies.
Patriot Outreach also has a number of resources that families can access through their website bringing peace from suffering or Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
“Our group provides simple, effective, nonintrusive support, designed to bridge the gap between those who seek help and the silent majority who avoid the stigma of seeking assistance,” said Lee D. Booton, Patriot Outreach spokesman.
So far, 6,000 of the Coping Strategies CDs have been distributed.
The Governor will sign the proclamation between 7:15 and 8:15 am at Camp Dodge Joint Maneuver Training Center in Iowa Gold Star Military Museum Building 3692.
WHO 1040’s Van and Bonnie will be broadcasting live from the event for the Memorial Day Remembrance Program at the Gold Star Museum.
