LEVY VOTE: Johnston residents are heading to the polls to decide whether to renew a levy that helps fund the Johnston School District
News, Schools

Voters in Johnston are going to the polls Tuesday to vote on the school district's physical plant and equipment levy.

The district uses PPEL money for construction, as well as, property and equipment purchases and much more. If approved by voters, PPEL will renew the levy homeowners in the district already pay and will not increase the current tax rate even more.

The levy raises about $2.5 million a year for the Johnston School District.

Polls are open from until 8:00 p.m.
