WEEKEND CRASH: Woman Still Hospitalized | News
A Johnston woman remains in the hospital after an accident on Interstate 80-35.
Around 9 p.m. Saturday night, 30-year-old Tara Leitzinger hit the back of a semi-truck near the Douglas Avenue eastbound entrance ramp near Urbandale.
The front end of Leitzinger’s car was pinned under the trailer and crews had to rescue her from the vehicle.
Investigators are still reconstructing the crash to determine what happened.
The semi driver wasn’t hurt.
Leitzinger is at Iowa Methodist Hospital.
